2010 Fire Ball Golf Tournament

The” Fire Ball Golf Tournament” supporting the Windsor Firefighters Benefit Fund is now looking for your support!

The Windsor Professional Firefighter Association Benefit Fund is please to announce the Second annual Fire Ball Golf Tournament to be held on Saturday August 7th, 2010 at Beach Grove Golf and Country Club. Our benefit fund is a great community sponsor. We are there to help those who have been affected by the results of fires, other emergencies and our members have also been there to assist many local events.

Our goal for this year’s tournament is to continue to make a difference in the lives of local school children by making a donation from the funds raised to their schools breakfast club programs. We had an excellent inaugural tournament and we were able to help out several schools in Windsor.

            We are also excited to announce that this year we are teaming up with Prostate Cancer Canada as our primary charity! Our aspiration is to raise funds for them and help promote awareness.

We are inviting you to join us as a sponsor for this event. By being a sponsor in this event you will be promoting your company/ business individual to a group of people who are very loyal to its sponsors, as well as to the many area professionals who will be participating at the Fire Ball Golf Tournament itself. We are anticipating a highly successful and well-attended tournament at Beach Grove Golf and Country Club.   We have sent out a lot of sponsor packages to date and have some good support already. Our event would benefit from a donation by having the support of your great name as a sponsor. This is the second year for this event and we want to make it more grand then our last.  All sponsorship donations are helpful and needed to make this event a success, for this year and the future. We hope that you can help us reach our event goal.


The Windsor Firefighters originally established the Firefighters’ Benefit Fund in 1921. In the early years, its purpose was to help firefighters who had fallen on hard times due to illness, injury or financial difficulties. Fellow firefighters would organize a fundraiser and donate what they could to assist their brothers/sisters in times of need. Now fast-forward to the present and you will find the Benefit Fund helping others as well as their own members. Their focus has expanded over time to include helping those within the local community; the community we work and live in. This is accomplished through fundraising, bingo sessions and generous donations from the public and corporate sector.

 

It the hope of the Tournament Committee to produce and host an event that will attract return golfers and sponsors for years to come.
